Having a surprise flat tire on a road trip is no fun so that is why I picked up this Mieaoll Tire Pressure Monitoring System for Leif the Adventure Van.
New cars have fancy tire pressure monitors built in, but for older and offroad vehicles, or trailers, there is no way to keep track of your tire pressure when out on the road. These easy to install pressure monitoring systems are affordable and let you know what your tire’s pressures are at all times.

Mieaoll TPMS Installation
Installation of this unit was super easy. Essentially, it was just removing my old valve caps, then putting on the lock nut and the sensor. Then with the included wrench, I just had to tighten up the lock nut and they were on.
The unit paired pretty flawlessly, and I’d say the whole process took less than 5 minutes to be up and running. I spent longer playing with the high/low alert settings and pushing buttons for fun than I did installing it.
How Did The Mieaoll TPMS Perform?
I put these on right before a road trip and have put at least 1000 miles on them so far. Before I left, I aired up my tires as close to 40PSI as possible with my new tire inflator.
What I have noticed is that the pressures don’t always match, but I’m wondering if that is sometimes due to how the van is sitting. A lot of times three of the four will match and one will be off from the rest. Now I’m talking a difference of 1-2PSI so it isn’t enough to worry about. But, after I’m driving a bit, they tend to even out. They did do a great job of showing how my tires got hotter as I drove across the middle of Washington state in heat of the day.
All in all, I’m very happy with these sensors. They give me a little more peace of mind when I’m out driving in the middle of nowhere.
Some Other Options For TPMS Systems
Obviously there are lots of tire pressure monitoring systems on the market. Here are a few that are highly reviewed that you might want to check out for your vehicle or trailer!
